Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Connie Parks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sacha Viletnikov!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Viletnikov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Viletnikov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Viletnikov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Parks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Parks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Viletnikov walks away with a smile on his face. Parks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Parks throws a sloppy head kick

and Viletnikov counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Parks lands a left hand that snaps the head of Viletnikov backwards.

Viletnikov pulls Parks into guard.
Viletnikov throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Viletnikov uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parks chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Viletnikov can pounce on him.
Parks really is a fat lump.
Viletnikov shoots in for a takedown but Parks shows good takedown defense.
As Viletnikov looks to move away, Parks throws a big counter combo but Viletnikov just gets out of the way.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Parks rushes Viletnikov and presses him up against the cage.

Viletnikov gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Parks regains guard.
Parks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Viletnikov on the ground.
Parks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Viletnikov controls the pace.

Viletnikov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Parks, up you get!
Viletnikov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch combination from Viletnikov misses.

Parks gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Parks is trying to keep Viletnikov in close.
Viletnikov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Viletnikov sitting in guard here, content to control.
Viletnikov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Viletnikov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Viletnikov stands and steps away. Parks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Viletnikov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Viletnikov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parks dives in for a single leg takedown but Viletnikov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Viletnikov looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Parks will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connie Parks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parks throws a series of punches but Viletnikov avoids them all with ease.

Viletnikov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Viletnikov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Parks, who protects the arm well.

Viletnikov has hold of Parks's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Parks seems comfortable defending it but Viletnikov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Parks is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Parks is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Viletnikov couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sacha Viletnikov!
