Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Sionis (ranked 446 p4p, 48 weight class) and Mario Eikmeyer (ranked 2944 p4p, 264 weight class). The key to victory for Roman Sionis has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Sionis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 46 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eikmeyer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Eikmeyer looks for a takedown but Sionis sprawls well.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sionis, right into the meat.
Sionis lands a nice leg kick that just misses Eikmeyer's sensitive parts.
Sionis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Eikmeyer dives in and grabs Sionis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sionis pushes down on Eikmeyer's head and hops out.

Eikmeyer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sionis has escaped the position, nice work there.

Eikmeyer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eikmeyer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sionis is trying to control Eikmeyer's posture but Eikmeyer avoids it.

Eikmeyer misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Eikmeyer swings around for an armbar but Sionis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Eikmeyer's guard.

Sionis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eikmeyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sionis has managed to get both his arms back between Eikmeyer's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sionis is nestled in close to Eikmeyer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Eikmeyer is staying active underneath Sionis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sionis in particular looking to stall.

and Sionis counters with a huge left! Eikmeyer is in big trouble! He's backing up but Sionis isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Eikmeyer from any more damage. A dominating finish by Sionis!
