Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Balis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy doesn't manage to clinch there - Balis circles away.
Guy tries to clinch up but Balis circles away and keeps his distance.
Balis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Balis.
Balis doesn't manage to clinch there - Guy circles away.
Guy looks for the body kick but Balis saw that one coming.
Guy throws a nice head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - Balis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Balis closes the distance looking to clinch

and Guy moves into the clinch.

Guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Balis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Guy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Balis has worked his arm free - good work by Balis!
Balis is looking to reverse the position.
Balis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Guy has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Balis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Guy trying to control the position but Balis is working away.
Balis manages to get back to half guard.

A close second round but John Balis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
