Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chi Berry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blake Thorpe!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorpe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Chi Berry has been cut.
Thorpe swings widly with a right hand
and Berry counters with a nice kick to the body.
Berry tries for a takedown but Thorpe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Thorpe has managed to clinch.
Berry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Berry wants a takedown.
Thorpe has had enough of the clinch but Berry keeps him there for the moment.
Thorpe with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Thorpe tries to circle away but Berry has him pinned against the cage.
Thorpe is looking to control Berry's arms but Berry gets an underhook and turns him. Now Thorpe has his back to the cage.
Thorpe gets underhooks to prevent Berry's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chi Berry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berry fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Berry tries for a takedown but Thorpe manages to get underhooks.
Thorpe lands a hook that snaps the head of Berry backwards.
Thorpe with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Berry is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Thorpe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thorpe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Berry tightens his grip and picks Thorpe up, before dumping him to the ground. Thorpe manages to land in guard.
Thorpe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Berry off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Good exchange - Thorpe coming out on top.
Thorpe plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Berry swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Berry face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Blake Thorpe!
After the fight, Blake Thorpe was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
