PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between The Sigit (ranked 96 p4p, 16 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 328 p4p, 45 weight class). Sigit comes to the cage accompanied by Gie. Sin has chosen Original Nuttah as his entrance music. The Sigit had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 22 - 2, fighting out of New York, The Sigit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Lee Sin!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sigit moves away.
Sin is looking to land body kicks.
Sigit fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sigit doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sin counters with a right hand to the body.

Sigit shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sigit throws an elbow but Sin slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sin sneaks back into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sin is refusing to be controlled, as Sigit sits in half guard.
Sigit is pressing down on Sin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sin is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sigit throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sin pulls Sigit in close to his closed guard and prevents Sigit from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sigit's guard.

Sigit is not content to let Sin control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Sigit's face as Sin controls the position.
Sigit tries to bench press Sin off him but Sin keeps the position.
Sin is looking to take a break and control but Sigit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sigit is trying to improve his position.
Sigit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sigit regains half guard.
Sigit tries to get to full guard but Sin has control of the leg.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sigit is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sin pulls his head out easily.

A close round but Lee Sin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A kick lands to the mid section there for Sin.
Sin throws a shot from downtown. Sigit moves away and avoids it.
Sin throws out a loose jab but Sigit uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sigit walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Sigit counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sin!

The Sigit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Sin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Lee Sin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sigit takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sin throws a hook but Sigit avoids it easily.
Sigit tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sigit somewhat.

Sin throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Sigit misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Sigit closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sin circles away.

Sin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sigit.

Sin dips to his left and cracks Sigit with an uppercut!
Sigit is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Sin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sigit shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sin as he jumps to the side.
Sin throws out a counter right but Sigit avoids it with no problem.
Sigit shoots in but no luck this time.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Sin.
Sin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sigit under the eye.
The Sigit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Sin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sin connects with a looping right hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lee Sin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
