Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack William!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from William both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Kris Terry has been cut.

William clinches up against the cage.
William gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Terry.
William's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

William's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Terry fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but William avoids it really well and circles away.
William is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Terry tries to keep at a distance but William has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Terry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

William shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Terry is trying to defend but William finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

William shoots in and bounces Terry off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

William wants to pass the guard but Terry is keeping the position.
Terry throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
William won't allow Terry to get back to his feet.
William has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Terry is proving hard to escape from.
Terry is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Terry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
William won't allow Terry to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
William tries a head kick but it misses.
William throws a looping overhand right but Terry ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
William wants to clinch.
William tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
William stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and William wants it to stay on the feet.

Terry half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and William counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
William is looking to clinch but Terry is avoiding it.
Terry tries to counter by moving into the clinch but William manages to circle out of the way.
William keeps Terry at a distance using the push kick.
Jack William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

William shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Terry keeping moving, preventing William from controlling successfully.
Terry striking off his back but it's not causing William any problems.
Terry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Terry is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but William is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

William is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Terry has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Terry tries to hold on but William pushes him away.
William lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Terry hang on?
William has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Terry wants to control but William is having none of it.

Terry holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as William tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

William looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Terry flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
William tries to control but Terry wriggling away.
Terry wants to control but William is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
William takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

William stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

William drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Terry scrambles and gets back to his feet.
William fails with an attempt to clinch.

William fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jack William seems to be getting the better of the standup.
William tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Terry paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Terry appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Terry shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with William but William pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Terry throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

William rushes Terry and presses him up against the cage.
Terry tries to pull guard but William won't allow it.
William crunches a lovely knee into Terry's ribcage.

William breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

William has Terry pressed against the cage, preventing Terry from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

William's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
William tries to clinch but Terry is having none of it.
Terry tries to counter with a takedown but William is quick to defend against it.

Terry is refusing to be controlled, as William sits in half guard.
Terry flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
William blocks the strikes from Terry.
Terry is trying to maintain the position but William is very close to passing his half guard.

William wants to stand up but Terry is controlling the position.

William wants to control but Terry is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Terry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Terry. That's going to take a lot out of him.

William closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Terry did well to prevent William getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

William jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Terry manages to avoid the submission attempt.

William decides to stand back up. William steps back and let's Terry get back to his feet.

William closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
William wants to control but Terry is keeping him busy.
William works to advance to full mount. Terry defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Terry tries to lock up and control but William gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Terry wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by William.
William trying to control but Terry is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack William comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well William has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
