The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumerod fails with a takedown attempt.
Payton keeps the fight on the outside.
Payton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Payton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sumerod looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Sumerod creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Payton is leaning against Sumerod and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Payton lands a hook to the side of the head.
Payton takes an elbow to the temple.
Payton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Sumerod throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Payton lands a shot to the body.
Payton blocks the elbow strike.
A shot in the inside from Payton.
Payton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Payton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Payton throws a head punch that misses.
Payton lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sumerod can't find room to land a body shot as Payton controls the action.
Sumerod throws an elbow that misses.
Payton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sumerod's elbow.
Sumerod tries a body shot but Payton blocks it.
Payton scores with a shot to the side of Sumerod's head.

Payton prevents a body shot from Sumerod.
Payton lands a left hand.

Payton breaks from the clinch.
Payton comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sumerod tries to clinch but Payton moves out of range.
Sumerod wants to clinch up but Payton keeps it at a distance.
A left and a right from Payton both land. Nice combination.
Evan Payton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Payton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sumerod counters with a two punch combo.
Sumerod avoids the body shot from Payton.
As Payton backs off Sumerod throws a huge counter combo but Payton manages to avoid it all.
Sumerod darts in trying to clinch

and Payton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sumerod won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Payton is looking to take a break and control but Sumerod is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Payton tries to advance to mount but Sumerod denies him.
Sumerod tries to buck Payton off but Payton is having none of it.

Payton is trying to get an arm triangle but Sumerod is defending well.
Sumerod tries to improve position but can't.

Payton is working to tighten his grip on Sumerod's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sumerod has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Payton is really squeezing tight and eventually Sumerod passes out! Payton breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
