The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiley throws a body shot but no joy.

Wiley fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monroe sprawls well initially but Wiley persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Monroe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wiley scores with a couple of nice shots.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wiley connects with a nice short shot to Monroe's temple.

Wiley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wiley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wiley uses his free foot to push down on Monroe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Monroe.

Wiley is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Monroe is hurt! He's hurt bad - Wiley fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Monroe from any more punishment! Congratulations to Wiley! Great finish!
