The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
douglas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lakanik paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lakanik tries to clinch but fails miserably
and douglas counters with a good low kick that Lakanik was not able to check.
douglas tries to clinch up but Lakanik circles away and keeps his distance.

Lakanik rushes douglas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Lakanik manages to break the clinch.
Lakanik doesn't succeed with the takedown
and douglas counters with a right hand to the body.

Lakanik closes the distance and pushes douglas back into the cage.

Lakanik pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lakanik stuffs the takedown.
douglas swats away the attempt to clinch by Lakanik.
A jab from douglas misses.
Lakanik throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lakanik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says douglas as he avoids it easily.
Lakanik throws a front kick that sends douglas stumbling back into the cage.
douglas is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lakanik misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
qushane douglas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Lakanik.
Lakanik avoids the body shot from douglas.
Lakanik circles away from the clinch attempt.

douglas fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lakanik knocks douglas to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Lakanik unloads with some vicious shots from mount and douglas wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Lakanik celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
