Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heliodoro tries to clinch there but Akiyama circles away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Heliodoro.
Heliodoro gets caught flat footed, as Akiyama shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Akiyama is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Akiyama has control of Heliodoro's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Heliodoro regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Akiyama walks forward, straight into a front kick from Heliodoro.
Heliodoro wants to clinch up but Akiyama keeps it at a distance.

Akiyama chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Heliodoro can pounce on him.
Akiyama closes the distance and clinches up with Heliodoro, looking for a takedown. Akiyama pushes Heliodoro against the cage but Heliodoro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Akiyama uses his free foot to push down on Heliodoro's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Heliodoro.

Akiyama is pulling down on Heliodoro's head. It's preventing any offense from Heliodoro, at least for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
