Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brett Oconnor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Waddell!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waddell closes the distance and clinches.
Oconnor tries to pull guard but Waddell won't allow it.

Waddell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Waddell takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Oconnor darts in looking for a takedown but Waddell gets double underhooks and turns Oconnor into the cage.

Waddell drives through with a takedown into guard.
Waddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oconnor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oconnor wants to get back to his feet but Waddell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Waddell wants to control from the top but Oconnor keeps moving.
Waddell throws a big right hand that misses.

Waddell controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Waddell looking to pass the guard.
Oconnor has momentary wrist control but Waddell slips an elbow through the middle.
Waddell postures up and lands a big shot to Oconnor's brow.
Waddell is stalling in the full guard.
Oconnor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Waddell chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oconnor trying to keep a closed guard but Waddell is proving a slippery customer.
Oconnor wants to get back to his feet but Waddell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Waddell wants to control from the top but Oconnor keeps moving.

Oconnor is working an open guard so Waddell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Waddell stuffs the takedown.
Despite the aggression on Waddell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Oconnor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oconnor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Waddell swivels and escapes.

Oconnor tries to keep at a distance but Waddell has taken the fight into the clinch.

Waddell manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Oconnor with that takedown attempt.

Oconnor dives in for a single leg takedown but Waddell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Oconnor closes the distance and pushes Waddell back into the cage.

Oconnor on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Waddell misses with an elbow strike.
Waddell keeps control of Oconnor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Oconnor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Stalling in the clinch from Waddell.

Waddell pulls Oconnor into guard.
Waddell keeping full guard, as Oconnor tries to pass.
Oconnor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Oconnor gets to his feet. Waddell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oconnor tries for a takedown but Waddell circles away easily

and Waddell counters with a takedown into side control.
Oconnor is looking to get back to his feet here but Waddell is keeping cool and he's managed to take Oconnor's back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Waddell looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Oconnor throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Waddell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Waddell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Oconnor tries to pull guard but Waddell holds him up against the cage and eventually Oconnor drops back down to his feet.
Oconnor tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Waddell smiles and moves away.

Waddell shoots in and bounces Oconnor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Waddell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Waddell forces his way into half guard.
Waddell is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nice strikes from Waddell there.
Oconnor is trying to stand back up but Waddell is controlling him

Waddell seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Waddell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oconnor sees it coming and defends easily.
Oconnor is trying to get back to full guard.

Waddell stands up from half guard.

Waddell drives through and clinches with Oconnor against the cage.
Oconnor tries to pull guard but Waddell forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Waddell doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Oconnor taking a breather.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Waddell breaks the clinch.
Oconnor wants to clinch
and Waddell counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Waddell looks at the referee who does nothing so Waddell lands a crushing right that sends Oconnor to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Waddell!
