Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renato Gracie (ranked 2588 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Cotchin (ranked 3695 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotchin misses with a head kick.
Gracie jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Cotchin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gracie.

Gracie's corner calls for a 1-2. Gracie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Trent Cotchin has been cut.

Gracie tries a low kick but Cotchin avoids it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cotchin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gracie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gracie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Cotchin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Cotchin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gracie is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Cotchin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gracie connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cotchin scrambles back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Cotchin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Cotchin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gracie will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cotchin! But no joy.
Cotchin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
Cotchin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gracie.
Gracie throws a solid leg kick but Cotchin takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gracie.
Gracie's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cotchin under the eye.
Gracie pounces like a tiger and cracks Cotchin with a vicious hook! Cotchin is down but not out! Gracie follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
