Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Brock (ranked 8321 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Johnson (ranked 8712 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hans Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson wants to clinch.

Johnson takes a kick to the side of the head.

Brock darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Brock.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brock is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brock.

Brock is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brock to get the leverage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brock slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead.

Brock seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.

Brock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brock pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Brock moves into the clinch successfully.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Brock pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Brock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Brock wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brock lands with a right to the head.

Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brock swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Brock wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Brock lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Brock counters with an inside leg kick.
Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brock was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brock is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are battling for position here. Brock manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Brock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.

Johnson is looking to stand up but Brock isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brock cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.

Brock gets to his feet - Johnson follows without any prompting.
Left hook, right uppercut from Brock.
Brock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Brock is looking to clinch.
Brock blocks a jab.

Brock clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage.

Brock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brock lands a nice uppercut.

Brock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Brock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brock tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Brock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Brock persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Brock shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brock gets slowly back to his feet.

Brock closes the distance and clinches.
A short right from Brock on the inside.
Brock lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Brock tries to break free but Johnson pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson is pressed up against the cage. Brock has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnson down to the mat. Johnson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brock closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Brock shoots in but no luck this time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johnson! But no joy.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Johnson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Paul Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson shoots in but Brock avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hans Brock showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Brock has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
