Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Hall (ranked 3935 p4p, 378 weight class) and Jed Knight (ranked 3379 p4p, 342 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jed Knight!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight throws a jab when Hall was well out of range.
Knight delivers a nice body kick.
Hall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hall throws a counter high kick but Knight was just alert enough to avoid it.
Jed Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hall throws a head kick that misses.
Hall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knight.
Hall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Knight.
Hall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hall ducks under a wild hook from Knight.
Hall takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Knight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knight scores with the left hand. Hall knows he should have avoided that one.

Knight's coach down at Boomerang!! PURE ELITE COACHES and Sparring Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Knight's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hall gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Hall went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hall crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Knight - the referee stops the clock and Hall gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Knight. Hall manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Knight connects with a leg kick. Hall looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Knight lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hall's sensitive parts.
Knight is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hall had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hall thows a body kick. Knight tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Hall pivots, looking for a leg kick but Knight is out of range and Hall settles back down.
Hall misses with a low kick as Knight jumps back.

Hall drops his hands momentarily and Knight takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Hall tries to clinch up but Knight circles away and keeps his distance.

Hall on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Knight throws a jab but it's blocked by Hall.
Hall is looking to counter with head kicks.
Knight throws the left hand but Hall avoids the punch easily.
Hall lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Hall throws a looping overhand right but Knight ducks down to avoid it.
Knight moves into range and connects with a jab.
Knight connects with an inside leg kick.
Knight takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hall blocks a head kick by Knight.
Knight rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hall counters with a head kick. That will keep Knight thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A left lands for Knight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hall lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A clash of legs there as Knight blocks the low kick.
The fighters circling - Knight throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Knight scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Knight scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hall doesn't seem bothered though.
Knight tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hall was well out of range. Poor timing from Knight.
Knight fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hall is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Knight misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hall throws a body shot but no joy.
Knight misses with a body shot.
Hall's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Knight connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hall scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hall is rocked!
Knight throws a shot to the body.
Knight misses with a body shot.
Hall throws a sloppy head kick and Knight moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jed Knight dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hall wants to slow Knight down by chopping away at his legs.
Hall throws out a leg kick but Knight moves out of range and Hall only half commits.
A nice side step and Knight releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Knight throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hall.
Hall checks a leg kick nicely.
Hall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knight.
Knight with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Knight thows a left - swing and a miss!
Knight throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Knight throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Knight misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall throws a low kick but Knight avoids it.
Hall throws a leg kick but Knight sees it coming and checks it nicely.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Hall might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Hall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knight throws out the jab.

Knight blocks a head kick by Hall.
Hall tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Knight throws a good cross that connects.
Hall takes a swing at Knight's ribcage but misses.
Knight lands with a kick to the temple. Hall shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Oh Hall is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hall gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Knight gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hall is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jed Knight!
