Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Medison!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medison stuns Gibbs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Medison shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Medison showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gibbs tries to roll over but Medison keeps him under control.
Gibbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Medison decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Medison moves into range and clinches up with Gibbs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Medison is trying to force a seperation but Gibbs has the dominant position.

Gibbs ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gibbs no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Medison won't allow Gibbs to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibbs wants to stand and escape but Medison is having none of it.

Medison wants to pass the guard but Gibbs is keeping the position.
Medison is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Medison is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gibbs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

It looks like Major Gibbs has been cut.

Gibbs gets tackled into the cage by Medison. Medison maintains the clinch.
Medison is trying to break the clinch but Gibbs is controlling him.
Gibbs jumps guard but Medison stands there with Gibbs around his waist. Gibbs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Medison gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gibbs.

Gibbs is looking for a sweep. Medison is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Medison seems to be working for a kimura but Gibbs defends the submission attempt.

Medison wants to work for an arm triangle but Gibbs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Medison thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gibbs's head.
Medison looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Gibbs is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Medison jumps into side control!

Medison looking to break Gibbs's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Gibbs remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Medison will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Medison is trying to stick to Gibbs's back but Gibbs is turning into Medison. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Medison's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gibbs.

Medison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gibbs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Medison closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well Medison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
