Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan John (ranked 5902 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valdinei Pereirinha (ranked 5889 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Valdinei Pereirinha!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John fails with an attempt to clinch.
John throws a sloppy head kick and Pereirinha moves out of range easily.
John really is a fat lump.
John tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pereirinha paws at him with a jab and circles away.
John tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pereirinha tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Pereirinha steps to the side to avoid the strikes from John.
John darts in looking for a takedown but Pereirinha gets double underhooks and turns John into the cage.

Pereirinha shoots in and gets a takedown into John's guard.
Pereirinha postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
John will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

John is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pereirinha defends well.

John fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
John tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pereirinha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Pereirinha changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Pereirinha rushes John and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

John drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pereirinha gets the underhooks and prevents it.
John is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
John keeps control of Pereirinha as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Pereirinha is trying to break the clinch but John has him pressed against the cage.
Pereirinha has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The referee calls for Pereirinha to work.

Pereirinha works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

John is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pereirinha pulls him back up using the underhooks.
John tries to break free but Pereirinha pushes him back against the cage.

John has a couple of punches blocked by Pereirinha.
John jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pereirinha walks away with a smile on his face. John gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pereirinha shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pereirinha was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pereirinha creates some space and throws a big elbow, but John sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
John is not content to let Pereirinha control the position.
John tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! John's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

John shoots in for a takedown but Pereirinha shows good takedown defense.
John tries to clinch there but Pereirinha circles away.
A head kick misses from John.
Pereirinha misses with a double jab.
John is looking for a counter combo.
Pereirinha swings and misses with a hook to the body.
John tries to counter by clinching up but Pereirinha breaks away and moves out of range.

Pereirinha manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. John manages to get himself to full guard.

Pereirinha is in close to John's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pereirinha won't allow John to get back to his feet.
John knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pereirinha on the ground.

Pereirinha decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on John, up you get!

John wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Pereirinha manages to pass to side control.

Pereirinha is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. John doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pereirinha.

It looks like Pereirinha is going to stand back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
John has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pereirinha is working away from the top position though.
John wants to get back to full guard.
Pereirinha is looking to stall here but John recovers full guard.
Pereirinha prevents John from getting back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
John wants to sweep here but Pereirinha controlling him for the moment.
Pereirinha has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
John is looking to stand up but Pereirinha isn't so interested in that idea.

John shoots in but Pereirinha avoids the takedown attempt easily.

John wants to clinch up but Pereirinha keeps it at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - John looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well Pereirinha has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
