Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith scoring well with a low kick there.
Smith stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Smith chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Khan misses with a leg kick

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khan keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is really struggling to control Khan but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Smith could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Khan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Khan has wrist control.

Khan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Smith doesn't defend quickly enough and Khan has managed to lock this one up! Can Smith escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Khan on a fantastic submission victory.
