PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Hays (ranked 25153 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wyatt Measles (ranked 5488 p4p, 399 weight class). Wyatt Measles told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hays moves out of range of the body kick.
It looked like Hays was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Measles lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hays's sensitive parts.
Measles throws a nice inside leg kick.
Measles leaves Hays with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Measles lands a front kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A thudding body kick lands there by Measles!

Hays tries to keep at a distance but Measles has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hays trying to control the position but instead, Measles has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hays into the cage.
Measles stalls.
A knee to the head by Measles.
Measles lands a nice knee to the body.

It looks like Dennis Hays has been cut.

Hays blocks an elbow strike.

Come on Measles - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Measles effectively controlling the action here.
Measles is pressed up against the cage. Hays has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Measles down to the mat. Measles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Measles has managed to clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hays using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Measles has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Hays will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Measles up against the cage.
Hays tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Measles tries to land knees in the clinch but Hays avoids the damage to the body.
Measles content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Oh Hays is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Measles has Hays pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Hays is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Measles - that's hurt Hays badly! Oh, another knee lands and Hays is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hays doesn't seem to be complaining.
