Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chrisopher Ball (ranked 777 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chief Bear (ranked 2145 p4p, 0 weight class). Chief Bear told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ball sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bear somewhat.
It looked like Ball was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ball keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ball lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Chief Bear has been cut.

Bear shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ball pushes Bear off looking to stand but Bear dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ball has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bear is on him like a limpet, forcing Ball back against the cage.
I was talking to Ball's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
