Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Mccullough (ranked 24162 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kouta Ishii (ranked 5513 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Mccullough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kouta Ishii!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishii misses with a body kick.
Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccullough swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mccullough looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ishii!
Ishii struggling a bit here.
Ishii is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mccullough in side control, just content to control the action for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ishii is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mccullough remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mccullough's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Mccullough really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mccullough paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ishii tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ishii looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mccullough went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mccullough keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mccullough looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Ishii tries to clinch up.
Mccullough swats away the attempt to clinch by Ishii.
Ishii moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Mccullough shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ishii's guard.
Ishii is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mccullough is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ishii can do to turn this around?
Ishii should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mccullough will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Mccullough counters with a left and a right that stings Ishii.
Ishii fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mccullough throws a quick counter head kick but Ishii was just out of range.
Bryan Mccullough has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kouta Ishii.

Ishii tries to keep at a distance but Mccullough has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mccullough stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Mccullough tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mccullough has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mccullough closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ishii quickly recovers to half guard.
Ishii wants to stand back up but Mccullough manages to pass into side control.
Ishii can't do much from the bottom here.

Mccullough thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ishii bucks up and tries to throw Mccullough off but instead Mccullough has got his back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ishii is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Mccullough seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ishii for as long as he can get away with.

Mccullough is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Ishii. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Ishii is trying to get back to his feet but Mccullough has full control of the position and if anything, Ishii has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Mccullough has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ishii's body.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ishii tries to escape but Mccullough has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
