PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between LeBron James (ranked 6630 p4p, 0 weight class) and January Kwiecinski (ranked 9140 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kwiecinski manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kwiecinski wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and James manages to pass to side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

James seems to be looking for submissions.
James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kwiecinski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

James decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kwiecinski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
Kwiecinski misses with a wild body shot.

James shoots in and bounces Kwiecinski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kwiecinski can't keep his opponent in guard - James advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kwiecinski looks winded!

Kwiecinski is defending against the submission attempts here by James.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James moves nicely into side control.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kwiecinski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
James has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kwiecinski!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kwiecinski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kwiecinski turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips James off and cradles Kwiecinski's limp body as James celebrates with his corner.
