Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcellus York (ranked 24464 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jackson (ranked 3717 p4p, 502 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcellus York!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jackson controls the position.

York sneaks out the side door and pushes Jackson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.
York makes his way to full guard. A much better position for York.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
York looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jackson throws a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but York is retaining full guard.
York can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson is looking to pass into half guard but York pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now York is in guard.


Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

York decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jackson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
York wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
York keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass.
York seems keen to control Jackson's posture.

Jackson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! York is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jackson, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is looking to stand up but York isn't so interested in that idea.
York working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
York stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

York drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick York off! York jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jackson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
York trying to hold on to Jackson's head to control him but Jackson postures up.
York is refusing to be controlled, as Jackson sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
York is trying to control but can't.
York is not content to let Jackson control the position.
York is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
York wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but York is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jackson stalling away here and it's allowed York to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcellus York will probably get the nod.
That's time! York's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like York was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jackson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jackson throws a push kick but York slaps the foot to one side.

Jackson drives through with a takedown into guard.
York keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but York gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

York controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

York thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson is adopting a defensive guard.
York throwing strikes but missing.
York trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as York controls the pace.

York gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

York fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but York persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

York gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
York looks to score with a jab to the body but Jackson is just out of range.

Jackson rushes York and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jackson gets control of York's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jackson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
York seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Jackson wants to hit a switch here but York passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jackson there!
York content just to control the position here.

York wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from York.
Jackson is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

York is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.

York manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Jackson is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
York ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jackson throws a right and a left that York avoids nicely.
Marcellus York is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand
and York counters with a one-two to the body.

Jackson instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcellus York will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

York throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
York utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. York swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jackson rushes York and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
York trying to control the position but instead, Jackson has worked for underhooks and has pushed York into the cage.
York looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
York tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.
Jackson lands a body shot in the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chris Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
York preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Jackson is pressing down on York's thigh, looking to free his foot. York is holding on for now.
Jackson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Jackson lands strikes from half guard.
Jackson trying to advance position but York counters by regaining guard.
Jackson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
York keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but York has wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.
York keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jackson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Chris Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jackson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

I think York has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
