Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeMario Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Armel Vidal!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vidal.
Valdez lands the left hand.
Valdez lands with an overhand left.
Vidal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Vidal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Valdez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Valdez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vidal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valdez tries to avoid it but Vidal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valdez to the ground. Valdez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
DeMario Valdez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Armel Vidal.
Valdez connects with a jab.
Valdez scores with a hook.
Valdez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vidal. Vidal circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vidal shoots in looking for a takedown but Valdez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vidal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vidal tries to clinch up but Valdez circles away and keeps his distance.
Valdez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vidal circles away quickly and effectively.
Valdez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vidal's hands.
Vidal shoots for a double leg takedown but Valdez sprawls well. He's pushed Vidal's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vidal has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Valdez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Valdez is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Vidal looks for a takedown but Valdez sprawls well.

Valdez looks to land a right hand but Vidal moved out of range.
Valdez scores with a one two! Vidal had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Valdez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Vidal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valdez swivels and escapes.
Valdez jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Valdez cracks Vidal with a hook to the temple - Vidal is on wobbly legs here! Valdez swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Vidal falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Valdez wins by TKO!

DeMario Valdez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
