Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wilbur Pickett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Rivas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pickett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rivas looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

and Pickett counters with a shoot takedown. Rivas fights it but they end up in guard.
Pickett stands up over Rivas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Pickett engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Pickett stands and steps away. Rivas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rivas lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Pickett has closed the distance and engaged Rivas in a clinch.

Pickett manages to break the clinch.
Rivas doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pickett decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rivas's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pickett with a nice head shot there.
Pickett looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Pickett stands and steps away. Rivas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pickett drives through and clinches with Rivas against the cage.

Pickett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rivas takes one on the button.

Pickett instigates a clinch.
Pickett lands a body shot.
Pickett is leaning against Rivas and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Pickett is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rivas can't fight it off and eventually Pickett manages to take the fight to the floor. Rivas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pickett stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pickett pushes Rivas up against the cage in a clinch.
Pickett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rivas takes a knee to the side of the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pickett turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Pickett has hold of Rivas's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rivas seems comfortable defending it but Pickett has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rivas is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rivas is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pickett couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Wilbur Pickett!
