Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Porfirio Watson (ranked 25109 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Jackson (ranked 5563 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Porfirio Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Watson was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Watson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Watson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.

Watson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Watson dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jackson is trying to keep Watson in close.

Watson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.
Watson wants to stand and escape but instead Jackson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jackson wants to stand but Watson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Watson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.
Jackson stands up over Watson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Watson is trying to control the position but Jackson postures up.

Jackson wanted to stand there but Watson had control of the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Watson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.

Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Watson's guard.
Watson has a closed guard, preventing Jackson from standing up.
Jackson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Watson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Watson dives on top into guard.

Watson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Watson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.
Watson throws an elbow that misses. Jackson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Watson's guard. Nice move by Jackson!

Jackson closes the distance and pushes Watson back into the cage.

Jackson has picked Watson up - he's going for a ride! Jackson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jackson wants to take a breather but Watson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Jackson.

Jackson wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Watson uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.
Jackson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Watson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson escapes and gets back to his feet.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Watson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tommy Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Watson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Watson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Porfirio Watson has been cut.

Jackson tightens his grip and picks Watson up, before dumping him to the ground. Watson manages to land in guard.

Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jackson looks for the body kick but Watson saw that one coming.
Watson shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Watson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jackson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jackson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Watson tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.
Jackson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Watson hang on?

Porfirio Watson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tommy Jackson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
