Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carson Duke (ranked 24858 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominick Seccombe (ranked 5653 p4p, 670 weight class). Dominick Seccombe will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carson Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominick Seccombe!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seccombe avoids the head kick by Duke.
Duke tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Duke tries to buck Seccombe off but Seccombe is having none of it.
Seccombe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duke keeps working.
Duke is looking to regain half guard here but Seccombe keeps moving and retains side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seccombe tries to move to mount but Duke blocks the move with his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Seccombe postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Seccombe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Duke is surviving well by controlling Seccombe's body position as best he can.

Seccombe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Seccombe lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Duke takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Duke with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Duke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Seccombe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Duke working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Seccombe wants to sweep but Duke has passed to side control!

Seccombe with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Duke takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Duke doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duke is on top in guard.


Seccombe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Duke engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Seccombe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duke stays in close to Seccombe's body and controls the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duke is working Seccombe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dominick Seccombe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Seccombe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
