Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter Shield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Duarte!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shield throws the kick towards the body but Duarte avoids it.
Duarte turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Duarte.
Shield throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Shield uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Duarte.
Duarte throws a lazy right hand but Shield sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shield throws a right and a left that Duarte avoids nicely.
Shield shoots in but Duarte avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Shield checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shield is looking to clinch.
Shield is aggressively charging in as Duarte backs up avoiding any damage. Duarte tosses out a jab and Shield runs right into it face first! Shield is out cold! Duarte dropped down on all fours and is barking in Shield's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joel Duarte!
