Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edison West (ranked 8301 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ludus Skorvia (ranked 5808 p4p, 0 weight class). Ludus Skorvia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Edison West's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edison West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ludus Skorvia!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Skorvia.

Skorvia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in West's guard.
Skorvia controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

West had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Skorvia defends it easily.

West is looking for a triangle but Skorvia pushes his legs off easily.
Skorvia lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Skorvia chips away with some ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

West utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Skorvia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but West manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Skorvia has West in his guard.

West has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Skorvia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

West closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Skorvia's guard.

Skorvia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in West's guard.

West has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skorvia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Skorvia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Skorvia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ludus Skorvia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! West's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


West throws a looping overhand right but Skorvia ducks down to avoid it.
Skorvia throws out a counter right but West avoids it with no problem.
West uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Skorvia.
West half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

West closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Skorvia to the mat! Skorvia manages to get full guard.
Skorvia is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and West dives into side control.

Skorvia is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Skorvia holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Skorvia wants to improve his position but West is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skorvia is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Skorvia is trying to maintain the position but West is very close to passing his half guard.
Skorvia is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but West is staying active.
West lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Skorvia is looking to control West's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Skorvia avoid being mounted?
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Edison West is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

West bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and West counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Skorvia has West pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Skorvia pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending West tumbling to the mat - Skorvia dives into West's guard.

West uses the cage to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Edison West showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Skorvia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
