Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Still D.R.E. Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. When Will They Shoot kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Barry Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.
Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Smith throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Jones stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Smith follows into mount!

Jones is rocked!

It looks like Jamal Jones has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith punching from mount but Jones doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Smith is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Smith seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Smith is trying to get back to half guard.

Jones tries to move into full mount but can't pass Smith's legs.

Smith tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smith looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Smith wants to sweep but no luck.

Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.
Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smith connects with a nice looking jab.
Smith looks to clinch

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.

Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead.

Smith is persistently looking for the submission but Jones is defending it well.
