Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Zachariah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans Hizer!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zachariah closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zachariah tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hizer controls his leg.
Hizer tries to roll over but Zachariah keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zachariah working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hizer's thigh. Hizer counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Hans Hizer has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hizer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Zachariah is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Russian Bears Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Hizer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zachariah to the ground. Hizer is now in Zachariah's guard.

Zachariah has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hizer has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Hizer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Zachariah after a bit of a struggle.

Zachariah gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zachariah trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Zachariah is fighting to break Hizer's control of his arms but Hizer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hizer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hizer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hans Hizer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hizer is nestled in close to Zachariah, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hizer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hizer lands a nice short elbow.

Zachariah on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.


Zachariah is rocked!
Hizer lands a big elbow - Zachariah is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Hizer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hans Hizer!
