The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuparinen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kuparinen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kuparinen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gonzalez manages to get himself to full guard.
Gonzalez wants to get back to his feet but Kuparinen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gonzalez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gonzalez stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oh but Kuparinen is tightening it up a little... Gonzalez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gonzalez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gonzalez taps out! nice BJJ there by Kuparinen!
