PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Stoneheart (ranked 4355 p4p, 556 weight class) and Olivier Enoh (ranked 5262 p4p, 636 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adrian Stoneheart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Olivier Enoh!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Enoh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stoneheart was well out of range. Poor timing from Enoh.
Enoh lands a nice hook to Stoneheart's body. Stoneheart takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Enoh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stoneheart sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Enoh connects with a right hand. Stoneheart shakes it off.
Stoneheart changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Enoh tries to avoid it but Stoneheart manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Enoh to the ground. Enoh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stoneheart uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Enoh.
Stoneheart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stoneheart misses with a takedown attempt - Enoh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Stoneheart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Enoh swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Stoneheart.


It looks like Adrian Stoneheart has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Enoh misses with a body shot.
Enoh misses the shot to the body.
Stoneheart slips under a jab from Enoh.
Stoneheart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Enoh just misses with a punch to the body.
Stoneheart looks for a takedown but Enoh sprawls well.
Stoneheart tries to close the distance and clinch up but Enoh swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Enoh looks to score with a jab to the body but Stoneheart is just out of range.
Enoh scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stoneheart in his tracks.

Stoneheart is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Enoh.
Enoh lands a nice hook to Stoneheart's body. Stoneheart takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stoneheart looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Enoh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stoneheart manages to avoid it.
Stoneheart avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Stoneheart fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Enoh loads up on a big right hand but Stoneheart slips the punch.
Enoh lands a jab to Stoneheart's midsection.
Enoh uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stoneheart has time to react.
Stoneheart wants to clinch.
A countering left hand to the body from Enoh misses.
Horrible takedown attempt by Stoneheart or perhaps it was just good defense by Enoh, which made it look bad.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Enoh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stoneheart tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Enoh makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Enoh leaves Stoneheart with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Enoh stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Enoh throws a body punch but Stoneheart moves out of range.
Stoneheart tries to counter by clinching up but Enoh breaks away and moves out of range.
Stoneheart uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Enoh.
Enoh looks to land a left hand but Stoneheart moved out of range nicely.
Stoneheart avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stoneheart avoids the body shot from Enoh.
Stoneheart wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Stoneheart shoots for a double leg takedown but Enoh sprawls well. He's pushed Stoneheart's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Enoh looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Stoneheart on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Stoneheart shoots in looking for a takedown but Enoh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stoneheart's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Enoh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Enoh thuds a left hand into Stoneheart's body.
Stoneheart is breathing heavily.
Enoh getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Stoneheart swings away with a body shot that misses
and Enoh counters with a nice uppercut.


Adrian Stoneheart's cut is getting worse.
Stoneheart uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Enoh.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Enoh lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


Stoneheart is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Enoh cracks Stoneheart on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Stoneheart falls backwards against the ropes. Enoh follows up with more strikes that drop Stoneheart to his knees. Enoh keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Stoneheart! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Olivier Enoh!
A relieved looking Olivier Enoh thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
