Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matt Johnson (ranked 8808 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve kk (ranked 7948 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Johnson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

kk clinches up against the cage.
kk lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Matt Johnson has been cut.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but kk has him pressed against the cage.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly.

Johnson has momentary wrist control but kk slips an elbow through the middle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. kk defends it easily.
kk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but kk is having none of it.
kk controls from within his opponent's guard.
Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
kk lands a couple of digs.
kk stops Johnson from standing up.
kk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson pushes kk off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
kk tries a head kick but it misses.
kk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Johnson attempts a counter takedown but kk avoids it well and moves away.

kk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Johnson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

kk darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.
kk lands a right hand.
kk wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

kk closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
kk wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite kk's best efforts.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
kk wants to stand up but Johnson has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Johnson pushes kk off looking to stand but kk dives back in and keeps control.
kk trying to mount his opponent but Johnson defends it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Johnson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

kk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Johnson will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

kk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
kk is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
kk feints a jab promting Johnson to slip. kk then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Johnson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Steve kk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

kk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson kicks off kk and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

kk wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but kk persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the cage.

Johnson has his feet on kk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
kk lands a big head kick that sends Johnson to the canvas! kk follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
