The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dlamini looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fernandez!
Dlamini controls the position.
Dlamini decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fernandez to his feet.
Dlamini has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Thabo Dlamini has been cut.
Fernandez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dlamini fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fernandez to the ground. Dlamini is now in Fernandez's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dlamini working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fernandez's head.
Dlamini lands a couple of elbows.
Dlamini drops back looking for a leg! Fernandez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fernandez manages to kick Dlamini off! Dlamini jumps back into Fernandez's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dlamini chips away with some ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dlamini accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dlamini works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dlamini looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fernandez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dlamini lands strikes from half guard.
Dlamini passes to side control.
Dlamini tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dlamini has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dlamini is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Fernandez is trying to escape and Dlamini transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Fernandez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dlamini! Very nice indeed!
