Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Petrovski (ranked 7668 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Lukyanov (ranked 5373 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleksandr Petrovski is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Boris Lukyanov!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukyanov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Petrovski swivels and escapes.
Lukyanov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Petrovski. No joy for Lukyanov on that attempt.
Aleksandr Petrovski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Lukyanov.
Lukyanov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petrovski is defended easily by Lukyanov.
Petrovski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Petrovski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lukyanov's waist but Lukyanov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Petrovski off to one side.
Lukyanov wants to counter the offense by Petrovski and move into the clinch position.
Petrovski doesn't manage to clinch there - Lukyanov circles away.
Lukyanov shoots in but Petrovski avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lukyanov shoots in and drives through. Petrovski sprawls well.
Petrovski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lukyanov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Petrovski somewhat.

Lukyanov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Petrovski sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lukyanov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrovski is thwarting Lukyanov's attempts to control the position.
Lukyanov has a hand on Petrovski's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Petrovski takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Lukyanov tries to hold on but Petrovski pushes him away.

Lukyanov is working to get back to half guard.
Petrovski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Petrovski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lukyanov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lukyanov wants to hold on but Petrovski pushes him away.
Petrovski lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Lukyanov shoots in looking for a takedown. Petrovski tries to sprawl out of it but Lukyanov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Petrovski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Petrovski is looking to counter with head kicks.

Petrovski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Petrovski lands in his opponent's guard.

Petrovski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Petrovski postures up in Lukyanov's guard and throws a big left but Lukyanov blocks it.
Petrovski wants to get up but he can't break Lukyanov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lukyanov shoots in but Petrovski avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Petrovski has closed the distance and engaged Lukyanov in a clinch.
Petrovski tries to stall but Lukyanov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Petrovski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lukyanov walks away with a smile on his face. Petrovski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Lukyanov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

As Petrovski backs off Lukyanov throws a huge counter combo but Petrovski manages to avoid it all.

As Lukyanov tries to get set, Petrovski tries to push him back and clinch up but Lukyanov manages to avoid the attempt.

and Lukyanov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Petrovski thinking.

Lukyanov shoots in for a double leg but Petrovski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lukyanov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Petrovski circles away.
Petrovski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lukyanov is fending him off so far but Petrovski persists. Nope, Lukyanov circles away and we're back to standing.
Lukyanov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lukyanov shoots for a double leg takedown but Petrovski sprawls well. He's pushed Lukyanov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lukyanov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Boris Lukyanov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It looked like Petrovski was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lukyanov.
Lukyanov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Petrovski's sensitive parts.

Lukyanov digs a right hand into Petrovski's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Petrovski's gas tank.

Petrovski content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lukyanov has locked up a guillotine! Lukyanov's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Petrovski is holding on here and Lukyanov must be using up a lot of energy. Petrovski has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lukyanov gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
