Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Millennium (ranked 1248 p4p, 152 weight class) and Toshiro Montero (ranked 1621 p4p, 200 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Montero's choice of entrance music: Danzig - Mother . I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Millennium!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toshiro Montero!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millennium thows a left - swing and a miss!
Montero is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Montero throws a leg kick but Millennium checks it.
Millennium stuns Montero with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Millennium keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fighters circling - Millennium throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Millennium fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Montero.

Montero lands with a hook. Millennium tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Montero is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Millennium.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Millennium will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Millennium pivots, looking for a leg kick but Montero is out of range and Millennium settles back down.
Montero avoids the head kick by Millennium.
Montero bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Millennium lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Millennium fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Montero manages to avoid it.

Montero jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Millennium manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Montero can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Millennium controls the pace.

Montero has his foot on Millennium's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Millennium works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Montero goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Millennium has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Montero but great work by Millennium.

Good leg kick by Millennium there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Montero takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Millennium does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Millennium uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Millennium lands with an uppercut that bounces Montero off the cage and back into range.

Chris Millennium showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Millennium, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
