Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Fredrick (ranked 4909 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Lupus (ranked 3525 p4p, 0 weight class). Fredrick comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz: Throw It Up. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Duke Lupus!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fredrick rushes Lupus and presses him up against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Fredrick obliges.
Lupus gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Ronald Fredrick has been cut.
Fredrick looking for a takedown.
Fredrick is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lupus is defending well for now.

Fredrick manages to break the clinch.
Lupus moves out of range of the body kick.
Fredrick throws a head kick that misses.
Lupus lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Lupus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fredrick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fredrick throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lupus blocks the body kick.
Lupus tries to clinch but Fredrick moves out of range.
Fredrick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lupus takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Duke Lupus has been cut.
Lupus tries to close the distance and clinch but Fredrick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fredrick looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Fredrick clinches up with Lupus and pushes him back against the cage.
Lupus told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fredrick lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Lupus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Fredrick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fredrick tries a head kick but it misses.
Lupus motions for Fredrick to come forward. Lupus throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lupus tries to close the distance and clinch but Fredrick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fredrick lands a big head kick that sends Lupus tumbling to the mat! Fredrick takes a step backwards and waves Lupus back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Lupus is rocked!
Lupus throws a leg kick that misses.
Lupus is still on wobbly legs! Can Fredrick finish him?
Fredrick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lupus doesn't manage to clinch there - Fredrick circles away.
Lupus seems to have recovered his senses.
Good work by Fredrick as he checks the leg kick.
Lupus tries to work over Fredrick's front leg with a kick but Fredrick checks it.
Lupus just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromFredrick.
Fredrick checks a leg kick nicely.
Fredrick is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lupus.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Fredrick! Lupus is out on his feet! Fredrick rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lupus is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lupus is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

After the fight, Ronald Fredrick was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
