Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Simond (ranked 24333 p4p, 0 weight class) and Disko Poppins (ranked 5870 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simond throws an overhand right that lands on Poppins's shoulder, as Poppins tries to avoid the shot.
Nice straight punches there by Simond. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Simond.
Poppins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Simond seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Simond throws a jab but it's blocked by Poppins.
Poppins connects with an inside leg kick.

Simond shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Poppins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Poppins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Poppins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Poppins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Simond gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Simond drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Simond jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
