The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Sands Jr 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A head kick misses from Yaqhar.
Yaqhar looks to clinch

and Sands Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yaqhar's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yaqhar has momentary wrist control but Sands Jr slips an elbow through the middle.
Sands Jr throws a big right hand that misses.
Yaqhar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sands Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yaqhar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Yaqhar wants to stand and escape but Sands Jr is having none of it.

Sands Jr stands up over Yaqhar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sands Jr in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sands Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sands Jr is looking to work some ground and pound but Yaqhar has wrist control.
Yaqhar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sands Jr on the ground.
Yaqhar is breathing heavily.
Sands Jr throws a strike but Yaqhar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Yaqhar has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sands Jr is proving hard to escape from.

Sands Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yaqhar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sands Jr is tightening it up a little... Yaqhar has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Yaqhar reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Yaqhar taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sands Jr!
