Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerrold Melton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Graysen Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson looking to score a takedown here. Melton is defending well but Jackson drives through and ends up in Melton's guard.

Melton manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Melton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Melton to the mat! Melton manages to get full guard.

Melton pushes Jackson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jackson instigates a clinch.

Melton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Melton kicks off Jackson and gets to his feet.
Melton shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Melton's guard.

Melton has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jackson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Melton breaks the clinch.
Graysen Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melton shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Melton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Oooooh!!! Jackson has knocked Melton down with a huge combo! Jackson steps away and waves a wobbly Melton back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Jerrold Melton has been cut.

Jackson is trying to trip Melton. He has hold of a leg but Melton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jackson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Melton manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Melton throws an elbow but it misses.
Jackson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Melton blocks it with crossed arms.

Melton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Melton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerrold Melton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Melton shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Melton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Melton napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Melton is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jackson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Melton is looking to reverse the position.

Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Melton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Melton wants to control but Jackson postures up.
Melton is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Jackson wants to stand but Melton has his arm trapped.

Melton is looking to reverse the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jackson defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Melton's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerrold Melton will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Melton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

Melton tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Melton is looking to break free of the clinch but Jackson has double underhooks.
Jackson has Melton pressed against the cage, preventing Melton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jackson tries a body shot but Melton blocks it.
Jackson stalling in the clinch but Melton improves position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Melton with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Melton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jackson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Melton can't fight it off and eventually Jackson manages to take the fight to the floor. Melton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Melton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Melton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Melton's legs - danger averted.

Melton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jackson is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Melton has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Jackson taps out instantly and this one is all over!
