The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holmsen instigates a clinch.
Holmsen lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

It looks like Thad Clarke has been cut.
Holmsen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Clarke up against the cage.
Clarke is trying to pull guard but Holmsen has him pressed against the cage.

Holmsen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Holmsen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Clarke moves into range and clinches up with Holmsen.
Clarke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Clarke tries to pull guard but Holmsen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holmsen manages to break the clinch.
Holmsen cracks Clarke with a good jab.
Clarke is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Holmsen just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Clarke has gone limp and this one is over!
