Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Shaw (ranked 25180 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anub Ben Aiss (ranked 5724 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyman Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anub Ben Aiss!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ben Aiss tries to close the distance and clinch but Shaw swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ben Aiss clinches.
Ben Aiss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shaw pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ben Aiss has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shaw blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Ben Aiss crunches a lovely knee into Shaw's ribcage.
Ben Aiss is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ben Aiss wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ben Aiss connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Lyman Shaw has been cut.
Ben Aiss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shaw pulls his leg out and moves away.

Shaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ben Aiss moves in looking to clinch but Shaw pushes him off.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shaw tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ben Aiss manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ben Aiss's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Ben Aiss tries to circle away but Shaw has him pinned against the cage.

Shaw jumps guard and drags Ben Aiss to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ben Aiss throwing strikes but missing.
Shaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shaw is looking for a triangle but Ben Aiss pushes his legs off easily.

A close round but Anub Ben Aiss will probably get the nod.

Shaw drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ben Aiss looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ben Aiss looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ben Aiss!


Ben Aiss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shaw is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shaw is trying to improve his position.
Shaw pushes Ben Aiss away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ben Aiss gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Anub Ben Aiss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Ben Aiss on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shaw. Shaw obviously looking to wear him down.
Ben Aiss lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ben Aiss shoots in for a double leg but Shaw sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ben Aiss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shaw uses from the top position.

Shaw has gone for a leg lock! Ben Aiss slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shaw's guard.

Anub Ben Aiss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shaw bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
