Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Riise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alyssa Schirmbeck!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riise with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Riise throws a body kick that misses

and Schirmbeck decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Riise's guard.
Schirmbeck with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Schirmbeck drops back looking for a leg! Riise is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Riise manages to kick Schirmbeck off! Schirmbeck jumps back into Riise's guard.
Schirmbeck is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like Schirmbeck might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schirmbeck decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Riise, up you get!

and Riise counters with a good low kick that Schirmbeck was not able to check.

It looks like Alyssa Schirmbeck has been cut.
Riise throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Schirmbeck steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Riise. That one must have hurt.

John Riise is winning the standup battle so far.
Riise shoots for a double leg takedown but Schirmbeck sprawls well. He's pushed Riise's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Schirmbeck seems to have recovered his senses.

Riise feints and then cracks Schirmbeck's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Schirmbeck down.

Alyssa Schirmbeck is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Good leg kick by Riise there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

John Riise showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Schirmbeck has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
