PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Krueger (ranked 4532 p4p, 472 weight class) and Jamiah Monlova (ranked 5031 p4p, 502 weight class). Monlova comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Erica Kane - Speaker Knockerz kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Freddy Krueger had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monlova on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

It looks like Jamiah Monlova has been cut.
Monlova wants to clinch.
Monlova misses with a kick to the body.
Monlova misses with a hook. Krueger ducked under it nicely.
Krueger feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Krueger tests Monlova's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Monlova dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Krueger. That did some damage!

Krueger cracks Monlova with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Krueger has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Monlova to stand back up!
Krueger definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Krueger enables Monlova to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krueger manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
My spies in The 'dam Gym inform me that Monlova has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Krueger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Monlova on the ground.

Krueger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Monlova, right into the meat.

It looks like Freddy Krueger has been cut.
Monlova wants to clinch but Krueger slips to the side
and Monlova takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That has opened up Jamiah Monlova's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Krueger forces Monlova back against the cage and clinches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Krueger.
Monlova jumps guard but Krueger turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Monlova jumps guard and drags Krueger to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Monlova wants to stand and escape but Krueger is having none of it.
Krueger stands up over Monlova, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jamiah Monlova tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Freddy Krueger stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back better than ever'.
