The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vardy tries for a takedown but Cunningham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cunningham shoots in but Vardy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vardy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A slapping leg kick lands for Vardy.
A good leg kick by Vardy.
Cunningham shoots for a double leg takedown but Vardy sprawls well. He's pushed Cunningham's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cunningham shoots in looking for a takedown. Vardy tries to sprawl out of it but Cunningham keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vardy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jamie Vardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum Cunningham.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cunningham takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Vardy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cunningham circles away quickly and effectively.
Cunningham fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cunningham shoots in for a double leg but Vardy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vardy throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cunningham doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vardy counters with a head kick. That will keep Cunningham thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Vardy gets tackled into the cage by Cunningham. Cunningham maintains the clinch.

Vardy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've been informed that Cunningham has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Cunningham tries to clinch up but Vardy circles away and keeps his distance.
Vardy tests Cunningham's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Cunningham pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vardy lands with a kick to the temple. Cunningham shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vardy swats away the attempt to clinch by Cunningham.
Vardy looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Cunningham fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vardy manages to avoid it.
Vardy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cunningham defends well and Vardy ends up having to push Cunningham into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Cunningham takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Vardy thuds his shin into the meat of Cunningham's side.
Cunningham misses with an attempted mid kick.

Vardy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cunningham.
Cunningham on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Vardy throws a head kick but Cunningham moves out of range.
Vardy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cunningham takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cunningham tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vardy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cunningham or perhaps it was just good defense by Vardy, which made it look bad.

Vardy keeps the fight on the outside.
A shot to the liver by Vardy. Beautiful body shot.
Cunningham is looking to clinch but Vardy is avoiding it.
Vardy fires out a quick counter leg kick but Cunningham just manages to avoid it.

Vardy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Callum Cunningham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vardy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cunningham tries to counter by closing the distance.
Vardy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cunningham tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vardy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Vardy lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Vardy counters with a flying knee. Nice.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Vardy has cracked Cunningham with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Vardy lands another huge swinging hook and Cunningham tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Cunningham, before Vardy can land any more shots!

A relieved looking Jamie Vardy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
