The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tryfon drives through with a takedown into Man's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Man could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tryfon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Tryfon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Man knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tryfon drops back looking for a leg! Man is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Man manages to kick Tryfon off! Tryfon jumps back into Man's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Man knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tryfon on the ground.

Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tryfon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tryfon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Tryfon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Man shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tryfon as he avoids it easily.
Tryfon let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Tryfon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tryfon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Man defends it well.

Man has his foot on Tryfon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tryfon works his way back into a safe position though.
Man can't keep his opponent in guard - Tryfon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tryfon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Tryfon is nestled in close to Man, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Man is trying to maintain the position but Tryfon is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tryfon connects with a nice short shot to Man's temple.

Tryfon is stalling here. Man is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Tryfon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Man has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
