Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Shaw (ranked 25293 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hable Hublee (ranked 25417 p4p, 0 weight class). Hable Hublee will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw with a poor takedown
and Hublee counters with a nice body shot.

Hublee clinches up with Shaw and pushes him back against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hublee.
Shaw is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hublee to keep the fight standing.

Shaw manages to pull guard.
Shaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hublee wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving.
Shaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hublee stays in close to Shaw's body and controls the position.
Hublee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hublee is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Hublee has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hublee is pressing down on Shaw's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shaw is holding on for now.

Shaw looks like he's trying to stand up.

Hublee escapes and gets back to his feet.
Shaw thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hublee if he has to take too many more of those.
Hublee misses with a few strikes there.

Hublee pushes Shaw up against the cage in a clinch.

Hublee jumps into guard, dragging Shaw to the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Hublee keeps moving.
Hublee wants to sweep here but Shaw controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Shaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hublee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shaw defends it easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hublee is on top in guard.

Shaw wants to stand and escape but Hublee is having none of it.

Shaw uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Shaw tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hublee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shaw wants to stand but Hublee is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hublee looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shaw has picked Hublee up and slammed him! Hublee can't keep hold of the triangle and Shaw manages to pass to side control!
Hublee is not content to let Shaw control the position.
Hublee wants to control but Shaw postures up.
Shaw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hublee keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hublee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shaw.
Hable Hublee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hublee shoots in looking for a takedown. Shaw tries to sprawl out of it but Hublee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shaw got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hublee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shaw has managed to get both his arms back between Hublee's legs - danger averted.

Hublee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shaw swings around for an armbar but Hublee sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shaw's guard.

Shaw is pulling down on Hublee's head. It's preventing any offense from Hublee, at least for the moment.

Hable Hublee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Shaw looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Hublee has managed to clinch.

Shaw is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hublee is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shaw to the mat. Shaw regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hublee is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Shaw drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hublee manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shaw has Hublee in his guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shaw holds on and takes a little breather.

Well Hublee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
