Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Jacobs (ranked 7281 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Franklin (ranked 4499 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Josh Jacobs has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Josh Jacobs seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franklin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jacobs on his heels. He'll look to pass Jacobs's guard now, I'm sure.

Jacobs scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've been told by Jacobs's head coaches at Cozad MMA Los Angeles that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jacobs misses with the body kick

and Franklin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jacobs!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Franklin working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
