Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Fields (ranked 6848 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Slammer (ranked 4428 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Slammer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Slammer does no damage.
Slammer throws a right and a left that Fields avoids nicely.
Slammer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Slammer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Slammer throws a looping overhand right but Fields ducks down to avoid it.
A little feinted left hand from Fields on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Slammer swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Fields moves into the clinch.
Fields is trying to push Slammer away but Slammer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Slammer misses with a punch to the body.
Fields looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fields tries to pull guard but Slammer holds him up against the cage and eventually Fields drops back down to his feet.
Fields blocks a body shot from Slammer.

Fields wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fields looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Slammer misses with a punch to the body.
Fields wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fields wants to get back to striking at distance but Slammer won't allow it.

Fields tries to break free but Slammer pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slammer has Fields pressed against the cage, preventing Fields from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Fields looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Fields. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fields is trying to break the clinch but Slammer has him pressed against the cage.
Fields wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Fields wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Slammer has him pressed against the cage.

Slammer is pressed up against the cage. Fields has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slammer down to the mat. Slammer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Chris Slammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slammer bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Fields! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Fields is rocked!

It looks like Sheldon Fields has been cut.

Slammer stands up and waves to Fields to follow him.
Oh Fields is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Are you kidding me?! Slammer ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Fields clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
