The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zappa instigates a clinch.
Zappa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zappa with a poor takedown
and Karakhanyan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zappa fails with an attempt to clinch.

Karakhanyan wants to improve his position but Zappa is controlling well.
Zappa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Karakhanyan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We've been hearing that Zappa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Zappa throws a sloppy strike and Karakhanyan uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Karakhanyan has ended up in Zappa's guard.
Zappa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karakhanyan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Karakhanyan wants to control from the top but Zappa keeps moving.

Zappa has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Karakhanyan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Zappa has tightened it up now! Karakhanyan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
